Arch class ruminations
Holy shit I love this class. The last two sessions have been incredibly captivating. I can say that I've learnt a lot. I mean, despite being on basically no sleep I got through the class enjoyably. Makes me wonder to what extent our body's reactions are reactions to the physical condition as opposed to the mental, the latter clearly dominating today.
There's a way that Mark articulates the sentiment things capture very well. Very exceptional vocabulary. I also like how he abstracts stuff and manages to stay with the purpose of what we're doing; I noticed I got swayed by the task at hand multiple times and in the process lost the sauce initially.
This activity was also awesome by the way and very useful. Put up a giant board, had people bring in picture of "new" stuff and then we discuss which very specific (albeit not wff-like) string of words can best explain why this is actually contemporary and what about it stands out to make us feel like it's new. Making it onto the board was tough; we only did about 1 post-it for each picture but several phrases were suggested. I reckon this activity can be applied to a ton of different contexts.
