Rushil

Today I met with Rushil, one of my seniors, who is in India working on his company. I learnt about his journey over the past two years through college and entrepreneurship.

He said he basically didn't really care that much about his grades and a lot more about experiencing college and building out his ideas with friends. Some takeaways:

  1. Being friends before you become cofounders is highkey helpful. You gotta like the people you're gonna spend all this time with as people.
  2. Speed is everything. You need to be able to execute. You should be able to create an MVP in a day max.
  3. You need to have an athlete mindset in some sense. There will be moments where you feel like giving up and just being a normal student; that's when you show up even when you don't feel like it.
  4. Go all in or do nothing at all. He was ready to drop out at any point provided he got traction for his work.
  5. Fundraising is about fucking FOMO. And selling your team as being positioned to prevent this FOMO, more than trying to do anything else.

Thought: So many startup founders (like Rushil himself) are probably so successful because of their lack of self-doubt, trust in their gut and incessant work ethic. They just go for it and keep going for it.
